In this video, we’re going to talk about prescription drugs. 7 out of 10 people in the United States take prescription drugs. That’s 70% of the population!

The majority of those who are 45+ take four prescription drugs.

Now, you should know that I’m not against taking medications. You should never stop taking a medication without your doctor’s approval.

However, there are some side effects that come with taking virtually any medication—especially when you take multiple medications. This is why I believe everyone should be working with their doctor to address their health problems at the root.

Many times, there isn’t a long-term plan established by a patient and their doctor to come off of the prescription drug. If that sounds like you, here are some questions you should ask your doctor:

1. What is our long-term plan?

2. What is the actual cause of my symptoms?

3. Are you willing to help me get off my medications using dietary and lifestyle changes and natural alternatives?

Changing your diet can often completely change your health. Having a healthy diet and lifestyle may reduce your need for medications over time, with the help of your doctor.

Additionally, many natural alternatives can help remedy your symptoms without any side effects.

Tudca, milk thistle, and vitamin D may help you ween off of medications without additional side effects.

Ask your doctor the questions above and see if they can work with you to reduce your long-term medication use.
