In this video, we’re going to talk about which herbal teas to avoid during pregnancy. Some teas can contain compounds that have the potential to cause complications during pregnancy. Take a look.

1. Hibiscus tea - in excess, hibiscus tea can potentially lead to delayed puberty, cause a miscarriage, and stimulate mensuration.

2. Nettle tea - nettle tea can stimulate contractions of the uterus. This is not good for early pregnancy.

3. All caffeinated teas - black, green, white, matcha, and chai teas can increase your risk of early pregnancy miscarriages due to high levels of caffeine.

4. Fennel tea - fennel tea can increase your estrogen levels, which may lead to pregnancy complications.

5. Fenugreek tea - this tea can induce early labor.

6. Licorice tea - this tea can increase cortisol levels, which can throw off your normal balance.

If you’re not sure about a certain herbal tea, make sure you do your research and ask your doctor before you have it to help avoid potential pregnancy complications.
