Hi Friends! How to avoid an electrolyte imbalance during fasting? Here is the thing: it has nothing to do with how much water you drink, it has everything to do with how fast you drink it. If you're drinking one glass an hour and you're sipping it over the course of an entire hour, it shouldn't be a problem. Your body can handle that. If you drink water too quickly, it's running right into your bladder - your body has to immediately process it out of the bloodstream. And the concentration of electrolytes in your bloodstream can become very low, that will put you in danger or even kill you. We run on electricity, we are electrical organisms. The electrolytes allow us to conduct electricity to carry the current. So if you dilute the electrolytes to the extent that you cannot conduct electricity, you will certainly die. If your electrolytes are way out of balance, fixing them is not easy. Can you quickly compensate by drinking bunch of coconut water? the answer is NO. It may not have the profile that you need. What we want to do is not drink too quickly, ever. You better off having too little water rather than drinking too quickly. When you're not fasting, it's a little different story. Loosing the electrolytes while you're not fasting is much less of an issue, because when you eat you're going to replace some of the electrolytes. It becomes a problem , when it continues going on - when you're over drinking. Or if you drink enough at one time, you can create an issue right away. Ok, hope you found this video helpful!
