Hi Friends! We have people at Tanglewood where from one week to the next while fasting, they gain weight. Is it possible? No, you can't gain weight. Your body is using its own tissue for fuel. There is one thing that could happen. It is possible as you rehydrate your body, you are holding some extra weight (but it's not usually enough to offset the actual weight loss). But what happens that offsets the weight loss is you are rehydrating this old stuff in your intestines. The water that you hold in your intestines shows up as fat on the scale.
