Today I’m going to cover some amazing benefits of taking a hot bath. To get these potential benefits, you would want to have the temperature of the bath at 40 degrees Celsius or 104 degrees Fahrenheit. You would also want to take your bath for 30 minutes.

The biggest benefit of a hot bath is that it could potentially help lower anxiety and depression.

Potential benefits of hot baths:
1. Lower cortisol (stress)
2. Higher serotonin
3. Better sleep
4. Muscle relaxation
5. Decreased chronic pain or stiffness
6. Lower blood pressure
7. More stabilized insulin levels
8. Enhanced immunity

A few things you may want to add to your bath:
• Epsom salts (for muscle relaxation)
• Lemon balm oil (for relaxation, chronic pain, and stiffness)

A few reasons you may want to avoid a hot bath are:
• If you have acute pain or you experienced a recent injury (you may want to ice the area instead of using heat)
• If you’re pregnant
• If you have heart pain
• If you get light headed easily
